Incheon Airport to Busan

Option A — KTX via Seoul Station (recommended)

• AREX Express, ICN to Seoul Station, non-stop, 43–51 minutes, flat fare KRW 13,000. The KTX platforms are inside the same station.
• KTX Seoul to Busan: 2 h 17 min to 3 h 22 min, around 70 departures a day, first about 05:13, last about 22:49. Standard class approximately KRW 59,800–72,600.
• Book at Letskorail or through the Korail Talk app. A foreigner-only KORAIL PASS is available.
• Total ICN to Busan Station: about 3 h 40 min, excluding baggage claim.

Option B — domestic flight via Gimpo

• Take the AREX all-stop train from ICN to Gimpo Airport Station (35–45 minutes), which connects underground directly to the domestic terminal. Do not take the AREX Express — it runs non-stop to Seoul Station.
• Gimpo (GMP) to Gimhae (PUS): about 25 flights a day, flight time around 1 h 5 min (Air Busan, Asiana, Jin Air and others).
• Domestic check-in closes 30–40 minutes before departure. Allow at least four hours between your international arrival and the domestic departure.

A direct intercity coach runs ICN to Haeundae 16 times a day, but takes about six hours — worth knowing about only for very late arrivals. Korean Air's ICN–PUS leg exists but is sold solely as a connection on a Korean Air international ticket; there is no separately bookable ICN–PUS domestic flight.

Busan Station to Haeundae

• Metro. Line 1 to Seomyeon (transfer, allow 5–8 minutes on foot), then Line 2 to Haeundae Station, then about 10 minutes on foot to the hotel. Total roughly 65–75 minutes, fare about KRW 1,800–2,100.
• Taxi. About 20 km, 30–40 minutes, approximately KRW 20,000–25,000 including the Gwangan Bridge toll.

Gimhae Airport to Haeundae

For those flying into Busan directly, or connecting via Gimpo.

1. Airport limousine (recommended)

• Board at Platform 3, Floor 1 of either the International or the Domestic terminal. Signed Airport Limousine No. 1 (Haeundae · Gijang line); shown as route 7100 in Naver Map and KakaoMap.
• Fare KRW 9,500 (adult). Card only — cash is not accepted. Transport cards (T-money, Cashbee) and most credit cards work.
• Departures from the International terminal run roughly 07:10–21:40, about 21 services a day, headway around 60 minutes. If you land after 22:00, take a taxi.
• Haeundae-bound stops include Shinsegae Centum City, BEXCO, the yacht marina, Park Hyatt Busan, Hanwha Resort, Dongbaekseom entrance, Haeundae Beach and Jangsan Station. Get off at Haeundae Beach (해운대해수욕장); Grand Josun Busan is a few minutes' walk along the beach road.
• Two suitcases per person (30 kg total) go in the luggage hold at no charge. Seats are unassigned. Advance booking through the Bustago app or the terminal ticket machine.
• The limousine is not eligible for the metro and bus transfer discount.

2. Taxi

• Official rank on the arrivals floor; the Kakao T app (English interface) also works. Ask for Grand Josun Busan (그랜드 조선 부산) or show the address on the Accommodation card above.
• About 30–35 km, 50–70 minutes. Metered fare typically KRW 35,000–45,000 including the Gwangan Bridge toll of KRW 1,000.
• Night surcharge 23:00–04:00: 30 per cent between 24:00 and 02:00, 20 per cent otherwise. Gimhae Airport lies inside Busan city limits, so no out-of-area surcharge applies.
• Insist on the meter, or book through Kakao T so the fare is recorded.

3. Light rail and metro

• Walk to Gimhae Int'l Airport Station on the Busan–Gimhae Light Rail, adjacent to the Domestic terminal. A free shuttle links the two terminals every 12 minutes, 05:00–22:48.
• Light rail to Sasang (3 stops), transfer to Metro Line 2, then to Haeundae Station (24 stops). One transfer, roughly 75–90 minutes door to door.
• Fare approximately KRW 2,100–2,500 with a transport card, including the KRW 500 light-rail-to-metro transfer supplement.

City bus 307 also runs airport to Haeundae without a transfer, but takes over 100 minutes and Busan city buses limit luggage to roughly carry-on size — not recommended. The former express bus 2029 was discontinued in July 2025.

Practical Notes

• Transport cards. T-money and Cashbee both work throughout Busan, including transfer discounts — a card bought in Seoul is fine. Buy or top up at any convenience store (CU, GS25, 7-Eleven, emart24) or at station machines.
• Maps. Google Maps cannot provide walking or driving navigation in Korea. Install Naver Map or KakaoMap — both switch to English in settings, and both show live positions for airport limousine route 7100.
• Taxis. Kakao T is the standard hailing app; the interface is available in English and foreign cards can be registered, or choose "Pay to Driver". Uber and UT also operate in Busan, with fewer drivers.
• Fares. Metro KRW 1,600 up to 10 km and KRW 1,800 beyond, by card; city bus KRW 1,550. Transfers are free within 30 minutes, up to twice — tag your card when you alight.
